Mother Nature
Please remember this is the Jungle and our cabins are native. We do our best to keep mother nature at bay but sometimes it’s out of our control. Please do your part to assist us with this. If you leave food out on the side you can expect some visitors. We’ve provided a hanging basket for dried snacks and you have a fridge so best to keep your food in there to avoid chickens, cats or any other unwanted thief’s stealing them. The TOKO’s...... No, it’s not a Komodo dragon! And it won’t eat you either! That loud “TO-KO” noise you can hear is our bug eating friend. They’re everywhere here in the province so you can expect them in and around Jungle hut, or any other accommodation within the island for that matter. Don’t worry, they’re totally harmless and will help to take care of any bugs for you.

Power Shortages
Unfortunately, part of living on an island and within the Philippines and Siquijor island means that you may experience some power cuts, which the locals refer to as ‘brown outs’. Welcome to island life. Fortunately in our area these brown outs mostly last for a hour before coming back. We have provided some emergency lights and a backup power station for you to use just in case. they should be ample power for you to charge your phones and camera a few times or add som juice to your laptop.
...
Internet
Generally speaking, our internet speeds are fine for general use of Youtube, socials and any other light work but please remember this is Siquijor island so from time to time the connection may be a little slower. We do our best but unfortunately this is often out of our control. If during your stay we suffer a power shortage and you have a social media emergency then the router will auromaticall run for a while. After this you'll be with your surroundings. Make the most of them! If its a real emergency still you can plug the router into the battery backup and this should run for a few hours.

It’s a 30-40 mins ride to San Juan where you can find the most famous of Siquijor’s beaches but if you fancy something a bit more of the beaten track head through the back roads towards Maria and find some quieter and less trodden beaches. Some to note are Kagasuan beach, Balas-Balas, Secret beach or Monkey beach..
